Forget the sterile, polished tours of the famous Grandes Marques.  The places to visit in Champagne belong to the small growers who often fashion great champagnes with real character as well as value.  In particular, the place to be in November is at 3D’s Cave Ouverte, when the Lenique family from our medal-winning champagne house, Maison Lenique in Épernay, clear their cellars for this ever-popular event in the 3D calendar.

Maison Lenique, ChampagneExclusively for Vineyard Partners and their family and friends, this occasion is a unique way to meet many other 3D winemakers and spend the day tasting a dazzling range of award-winning wines from across many of the famous appellations of France.  Throughout the day, from the moment you receive your complimentary taster of champagne Cuvée 3D, the atmosphere in the deep, ancient underground cellars is lively and full of chatter, colour and the enticing smell of French cooking, delicious local produce and, of course, the heady aroma of wine permeating throughout.

Tasting with Jean-Michel, BlayeOther exhibitors will include makers of foie gras, smoked sausage, terrine, cheese, chocolate, honey and other artisanal exhibitors, making it an enticing opportunity to stock up with numerous French specialities, as well as wine, before Christmas.
