Struggling to find an anniversary gift to remember?

A row of vines & a bottle to share! Here’s an anniversary gift that you can both enjoy – a row of vines in one of the most famous wine regions of France; Champagne, St-Émilion, Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Sancerre, Gevrey-Chambertin, Fleurie or a selection of other 3D favourites.

Your anniversary gift will consist of a welcome pack with your certificate for your row together with full details of your vineyard and its wines – plus an optional bottle to share of the latest vintage release from your vines. A row of vines in Montagne de Reims, Champagne & 1 bottle of Champagne Brut Origine – £79

These vines are located in the tiny, picturesque village of Ville-Dommange, close to the city of Reims. The parcels are called Les Mainbert and Les Braies and are planted high on the hill of the village on south and south east-facing slopes to capture maximum sunlight, important in a wine region so far north.  The vines are Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier and all are rated Premier Cru in quality.

A row of vines in St-Émilion, Bordeaux & 1 bottle of St-Emilion Grand Cru Clos Villemaurine – £79

These vines are based right on the edge of the beautiful wine town of St-Émilion itself.  Enclosed by a wall (Clos), this is a tiny plot of vines of less than two hectares in size.  Winemaker Paul Carrille works the clay, sand and limestone soils using a horse-drawn plough as he prefers not to compact the soils too much – which a tractor would do. Also, it’s a more environmentally friendly approach. He can’t get a tractor into the Clos anyway!

A row of vines in Sancerre, Loire Valley & 1 bottle of Sancerre Cuvée Caillottes – £70

Sancerre is one of France’s great classics.  Based on the fashionable Sauvignon Blanc grape grown on cool chalky soils, the wines have thrilling acidity and lip-smacking flavours of gooseberry, grapefruit and nettles. These vines are situated in a vineyard parcel called Les Caillottes. Here the limestone-based soil is carpeted with small white stones on the surface giving a more aromatic, fresh and fruity style of wine.

A row of vines in Gevrey-Chambertin, Burgundy & 1 bottle of Gevrey-Chambertin En Songe – £79

These vines are based in the Côte de Nuits in one of the most famous wine villages of all, Gevrey-Chambertin. The vineyard is called En Songe and the vines nestle amongst the many other famous parcels of vines that characterise this wonderful area.  En Songe literally means ‘in a dream’ which is very apt as these vines are very special.  The vine age is quite high which means the yields tend to be low as there are fewer bunches per vine.  This also means that the resulting wines have wonderful concentration and depth, however there is a lightness and elegance to the wine.

A row of vines in Fleurie, Beaujolais & 1 bottle of Fleurie Vieilles Vignes – £70

These Fleurie vines are situated on one of the highest points in the whole of Beaujolais. Capturing every ray of sun, they look down majestically over the other Crus Beaujolais villages. As they are Vieilles Vignes (old vines), these noble Gamay vines have deeper root systems which are able to draw up more water, nutrients and minerals. The bunches of grapes are also smaller which means that the flavours tend to be more concentrated and distinct.

A row of vines in Blaye, Bordeaux & 1 bottle of Blaye Grande Réserve Cuvée 3D – £75

Blaye is a little off the beaten track compared with some of the better known and well-trodden areas of Bordeaux. High up the river Gironde on the right bank, the wines are something of a hidden treasure. It was here that Malbec was first planted before it gained such notoriety in Argentina. Now, with increasingly warm summers, it reaches its apogee and forms an important part of most blends.  These vines are situated on the slopes beside the 16th-century turreted château – the home for seven generations of the Baudet family.
